Mental Health

Posted on: 13-04-2025

The first sign of good mental health is the peace reflected on one's face. Nowadays, in society, we often see irritation and frustration on people’s faces, and genuine softness is becoming rare. Another positive sign of mental health is the ability to see others as equals—not considering oneself superior or the only intelligent person. We must understand that everyone carries their own wisdom and experiences.

Today, we talk about different religions, but the true religion is humanity. Unfortunately, it is rarely discussed, and, in reality, we have yet to fully embody true humanity. Among the virtues of humanity, patience and acceptance are crucial, yet we are losing them. In the past, society encouraged unity—joint families were common, and people naturally developed patience and the ability to listen to one another. Now, not only do we struggle to accept others, but we also don’t even like listening to them.

These issues are leading to a decline in our mental capacity because the more stress we experience, the less mental growth we achieve. The solution begins with instilling these values in children—nurturing their emotions and helping them develop a compassionate mindset.

Mental health cannot be healed with money; it can only be restored with love. If we embrace others with kindness and genuinely listen to their feelings, mental health can significantly improve. Meditation is often suggested, but we don’t even possess the basic qualification to practice it properly. Instead, we should move towards auto meditation—which happens naturally when we sit amidst nature, listen to flowing water, hear the birds chirping, or take a free walk. These activities stimulate the release of happy hormones in our body, leading to better sleep.

Mental health is not a huge issue in itself, but it has started appearing like a disease in today’s society. It can be healed with love, care, and mindfulness of small actions. Love is a powerful tool, and if we all share it with one another, the word “mental health” might no longer be needed at all.
